2015年11月21日，美国特洛伊大学孔子学院蒙哥马利校区在阿拉巴马州伯明翰市的印泉中学首次举办了少儿汉语水平（YCT）考试。18名考生分别参加了一级、二级和三级的考试。本次考试在印泉中学的大力支持下，在印泉中学的孔子课堂教师张嘉琪女士的热心帮助下成功完成了所有准备和监考工作。大多数考生来自于印泉中学。考生和家长们充满信心而来，轻松愉快地离去。孩子们没有紧张，更没有恐惧，并对自己的汉语学习成果能有一个检验的机会表现出了些许的兴奋和期待。此次少儿汉语水平考试的成功举办，将对伯明翰地区的汉语学习，特别是中小学的汉语学习起到了推动作用，对当地的中小学校、学生和家长们对少儿汉语水平考试的了解起到了宣传推广的作用，进而将推动阿拉巴马地区的少儿汉语水平考试规模的不断扩大，促进更多的当地中小学生学习汉语。
Confucius Institute at Troy University Held First YCT in Birmingham
On November 21, 2015, Confucius Institute at Troy University on Montgomery Campus held the Youth Chinese Test (YCT) at India Spring Middle School (ISMS) in Birmingham.
Under the support of ISMS and Ms. Athena Chang, instructor at Confucius Classroom at ISMS, the event was a success. 18 participants, mainly from ISMS, attended Level 1, 2 and 3 of YCT separately. Students attended the test with confidence and completed the test with happiness. They are excited about having such a chance to evaluate their Chinese language proficiency and are looking forward to the test result.
The YCT test aims to serve young Chinese language learners and promote Chinese language in younger generation. With the success of YCT at ISMS for the first time, more students in Birmingham get the chance to know Chinese language and test. With the growing influence of Chinese language in Alabama, we will welcome more YCT participants in the future.
